Skiers? Snowboarders? Mountain climbers? No, Bexley High School students. North Face Jackets have leapt off the pages of nature magazines and onto the backs of teenagers.
Senior Elana Tobin, who got her North Faces for her birthday, said the jackets’ prominence contributed to her decision to wear one.
“I got the black [North Face] because everyone had it,” Tobin said.
Freshman Brawnie Petrov said she saw people wearing North Faces. After that, she decided that she wanted one to buy one for herself.
However, junior Daviana Weaver said that she doesn’t like that so many people own North Faces but rather the jackets’ warmth and versatility.
“They’re really warm and can be worn with anything,” Weaver said.
Weaver said that the North Face brand is very attractive to people.
“[North Faces are popular] because they’re brand name,” Weaver said. “Also, they come in a variety of colors.”
Tobin said that North Faces are a good alternative to a sweatshirt.
But then North Face’s popularity has increased in the last few years, Tobin added.
Petrov said the North Face brand will stay popular because the company keeps coming up with new warmer or lighter jackets.
But Weaver said that new fashions will eventually take their place as a trend.
“I’m sure [North Faces] will last for a little while longer,” Weaver said. “But there are always new styles.
