“The Mandalorian” is an excellent live-action Star Wars TV series packed with creative new characters and beautiful landscapes that immerse viewers into the Star Wars universe.
The show begins directly after “Return of the Jedi,” and the Empire is crumbling quickly. The unnamed masked protagonist, called the Mandalorian, is played by Pedro Pascal.
The Mandalorians are an ancient tribe of bounty hunters that originate from the planet Mandalore. They find bounties and profit off them when their missions are complete. Because
it is a TV series rather than a movie, the writers are able to go into greater depth with the Mandalorian’s story.
My favorite part of the show is the Mandalorian’s personality and quiet demeanor. He is very mysterious and has an unknown background. Because of this, he is a more complex protagonist than viewers typically see in the movies. The Mandalorian is one of the few Star Wars characters whose stoic personality says more than his conversation, and I enjoy the dynamic he creates on scene.
I love everything about this new series. Not only is the protagonist interesting enough to make me want to watch the next chapter, but the scenes are captivating and immersive. The CGI makes the strange creatures realistic, especially when the Mandalorian has to ride a tadpole-like creature. A unique feature during the end credit scene displays concept art from the show. The scenes give credit to the artists’ hard work while displaying beautiful art for the audience.
The plot of this show builds tension that keeps viewers in suspense until the last scene. The series begins to reveal the mystery of the Mandalorian tribe. The tension is more complex in this show than in the films.
“The Mandalorian” series on Disney+ invites viewers to learn about an ancient tribe from the Star Wars world that makes viewers want to watch each chapter over and over again.
