While a soothing massage or professional spa day may be the avenue of relaxation for some people after a long week of work, many animal lovers prefer cuddling up with furry friends and enjoying delectable sweets and refreshments at the Kitty Bubble Cafe & Bar, a cat cafe located on North High Street in Worthington.
After walking into the establishment, I made my way to the counter, where I was checked in and familiarized with the food and drink menu. The beverage menu consisted of a variety of cat-themed drinks such as the “Silver Tabby” and “Meow-go Passion Fruit,” and coffee and beer selections were available also.
I decided on the “Pink Toe Bean,” an iced green milk tea with strawberries and signature tapioca pearls that cost $6.70. As I left the counter, an array of colorful macarons and other unique desserts caught my eye. I couldn’t resist ordering a mochi donut as a sweet treat.
As I indulged in the yogurt-frosted confection, I took in the retro cafe’s checkered flooring, metal chairs and pastel blue and pink decor. There were cat-themed decorations throughout the cafe, including pink and white paw cushions and cat faces outlined in the metal backing of the chairs and wallpaper print. I was especially fond of the window peering into the cat lounge, as it let me simultaneously view the cute animals and enjoy my food.
I was beckoned into an intermediate room between the cafe and lounge, where my $15, 50-minute visit with the cats would soon begin. The genuine care for the cats’ well-being was evident. Visitors are required to wear shoe coverings, sanitize their hands and follow general safety procedures. The gentleness with which the staff members looked after the cats and their space showed me how deeply Kitty Bubble Cafe & Bar cares for its feline residents. For me, their compassion was telling of the cafe’s commitment to the cats’ comfort and well-being.
After following all of the instructions, I entered the cat lounge and was immediately welcomed by Lawrence, a curious striped orange tabby cat. Throughout my visit, I loved being able to pet and bond with cats of different appearances and personalities. Most of the felines were lazily sprawled out on the assortment of towers around the lounge, while a select few were playful and energetic.
Shortly after my session began, my drink was conveniently brought to me in the lounge, so I could maximize my time with the adorable creatures. The drink had a natural berry flavor and a smooth, milky texture that was incredibly refreshing.
As I scratched a cat’s head between his eyes and rubbed his belly, a soothing, rejuvenating feeling sparked inside my body. One of my favorite parts of hanging out in the lounge was spending time with an all grey cat, Katerina. Her adorable nature and eagerness to be pet increased my affection for cats, although I am normally a dog person.
My experience at the Kitty Bubble Cafe & Bar was nothing short of spectacular. I felt soothed and my spirits were lifted after a satisfying 50 minutes with the furry felines. It was so heartwarming knowing these cats were in good hands and being assisted in finding permanent owners.
Kitty Bubble Cafe & Bar is also a great avenue for potential cat owners to adopt adorable kitties. This destination is a must-try for any local cat lover due to its gentle nature, cool ambiance and relaxing kitty therapy.
