Kittie’s Cafe’s Hot Matcha Latte
Located in the heart of Bexley, Kittie’s Cafe is a quaint and charming coffee shop with loads of goodies to offer their customers. I ordered a hot matcha latte with oat milk. I was not entirely surprised to see the price was over $8; with matcha being the newest fad, the price of the tea has increased significantly in the past few years.
My drink came out minutes after I ordered in a compostable cup with a lovely design on top. It tasted authentic and wasn’t excessively sweet.
I have often found Kittie’s matcha drinks to be inconsistent: too much milk is added or the matcha powder is not fully dissolved. This flaw is unfortunate because when their matchas are made correctly, they are delicious.
Ravello’s Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte
Found in Italian Village, Ravello’s Coffee is a beautiful cafe that incorporates Italian culture into its environment. Their relaxed and down-to-earth atmosphere makes it an idyllic destination to meet with friends or study.
It isn’t just their atmosphere that keeps me coming back, though; their strawberry matcha latte is my favorite in Columbus. It is perfectly blended with a consistently pleasant presentation. The homemade strawberry puree is tart and pairs well with the savory matcha flavor.
The customer service was also outstanding. Mere moments after ordering my matcha, I found it ready on the counter.
Their unique cup design is also charming; its uniquely rounded edges making it a perfect subject for any photo.
Little Cat’s Iced Strawberry Matcha
Based in the East Market, Little Cat is an adorable cafe serving an array of delicious drinks. The East Market can often be overwhelming, but Little Cat’s calming environment stands out in the crowded hall.
Only one drink size is offered, which can be inconvenient to those looking for a larger or smaller portion. I ordered a strawberry matcha off of their specialty boba menu. The drink was priced at $7.25. Even though there was only one customer ahead of me, the wait was more than 10 minutes.
Despite the delay, the drink was quite good. The matcha was a rich green, contrasting beautifully with the layers of milk and red strawberry puree. The latte was perfectly sweet, but the matcha flavor was a bit difficult to detect amidst the other flavors in the drink.
