Prom will be at The Fives in downtown Columbus Saturday, May 9 from 7:30 to 10:30
p.m., and tickets will be $80.
Additionally, the attendance requirement preventing students with more than 12 hours of unexcused absences from attending has been withdrawn, Principal Jason Caudill announced
at the Talent Show in March.
Senior Emily Wasserstrom, a member of the Prom planning committee, said the theme of the dance will be “Starry Night.” Seniors voted on the theme out of three options, she added.
Prom Planning Committee member Ashley Pitts said guests must arrive by 8:00 p.m., and a Breathalyzer test will be required for admission to the dance.
While Prom is intended for juniors and seniors, Pitts said underclassmen and students
from different schools are allowed to attend if invited by an upperclassman.
She added there will not be dinner at Prom, a change from previous years.
“This year will be appetizer forward, focusing more on handhelds and shareables,” Pitts
said.
Wasserstrom said she thinks The Fives is a great venue with lots of open space.
“It’s a gorgeous venue, with lots of natural light and has so much room,” she said. “Last
year, it was an issue with being cramped. I don’t feel like it will be an issue at all this year.”
