Senior project is a time for seniors to get out into the real world and do something that they may not get another chance to do. On the other hand, some argue that it is more beneficial for students to be in class during their last three weeks of high school. We found four projects and dug a little deeper to see if senior projects really are worth it. You be the judge.

What: He is going backpacking for 10 days.
Where: Kenai Mountains in Alaska.
With Who: Outward Bound Wilderness, a nonprofit adventure company that focuses on education.
Why: He is doing the trek for personal growth. It will challenge him physically and mentally.

Jason Soll
What: Internship at the State House with David Goodman (R-OH).
Where: Mostly in Senator Goodman’s office.
With Who: State Senator David Goodman and other interns.
Why: He plans to eventually get involved in politics, so this internship will be valuable in the future.

Joel Vinocur
What: He will trace a family history on his father’s side from when they arrived in America.
Where: Columbus, Cleveland and a little in Michigan
With Who: Other family members, including two great aunts who are 93 and 95.
Why: He wants his family to have a written history of the Vinocur line.

Alyssa Arndt
What: She will be shadowing Eric Acton, who is working on a new anti-bullying program at Bexley.
Where: She will be at Montrose Elementry and the high school.
With Who: Mostly Acton and the principals of each school.
Why: She has always wanted to be a teacher and never had Acton as a teacher.
