With the help of her dad’s closet, sophomore Emma Solomon was able to create a fun and memorable Halloween costume: a nerd.
Solomon said she wanted a costume both she and her friend could easily make, so the two of them searched for items they could piece together to make their vision come to life.
“We raided our dads’ closets and looked for supplies we could use,” she explained. “We found suspenders and button down T-shirts.”
Solomon said that finding matching pieces was a challenge, but in the end, the two were able to pull it off.
“Once we got our suspenders and shirts, all we really did was wear leggings, and we wore our hair in pigtails,” she said.
The final step to complete the look with glasses, Solomon said.
“We took movie theater glasses, like old 3D movie theater glasses, put a piece of tape on them and then popped out the lenses,” she explained.
When Solomon wore her costume to school, she said she received many compliments from her fourth-grade teachers.
“All the teachers thought it was so cute,” she said. “My friend and I thought it was the funniest thing ever because we had fake glasses and were so stereotypical.”
